About the authors
Siegrid Hirsch, nature-loving grown up in untouched landscape in the easternmost corner of Austria, visited the higher technical training college for building construction. After marriage and the birth of their children their interest in alternative healing methods grew.
She first wrote for several regional newspapers and then worked for many years as an editor and presenter for radio and television at the ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation). Already initiated by her mother into the use of medicinal plants, she completed her training in medicinal plants and botany at the Ignaz Schlifnis School of Medicinal Herbs.
Her commitment led her to the largest herbal association in Austria, where she serves as a board member. Since 2002 she is the editor of the magazine “Gesundheitsbote”.
Felix Grünberger, Medicinal plants, educational and show garden
In the herb garden of Felix Grünberger grow on approx. 1000 m² about 300 different herbs. We also grow old varieties of fruit trees and various berry bushes. The cultivation takes place after strictly biological guidelines. Felix Grünberger operates this herb, – show and/or. Teaching garden (no commercial use) private.
In 1985 the herb garden was officially opened as a teaching and display garden. The Upper Austrian provincial government awarded Felix Grünberger the special environmental protection prize “Naturnahe Hausgärten”. It expressed the gratitude and appreciation for his meritorious work for the protection of the environment.
